The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Care Range Review

The Body Shop Tea Tree Range
The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Care Range

Tea Tree oil is well known for its amazing benefits for skin.It has antimicrobial and anti-fungal properties which helps to keep skin problems at bay.Tea Tree oil happens to be one of the very popular range from The Body Shop.I would be sharing my views and experience with only the skin care range as I would discussing the Tea Tree BB Cream & Pore Minimizer later on.Unfortunately at the time of compiling this article the tea tree mask wasn't available so I might review that some other time in case I happen to use it.

The Tree Tea range basically targets people with oily, sensitive, acne prone, blemished skin. And see the miracle my skin is a combination of all these problems <Laugh> which implies that this range should be the perfect one for me.Now that I have been using the products for like 2 months or even more, it is the right time to review them.Rather than individual posts I decided to review them in a single post so that I can also discuss the combined effect of them.

All the products have the tea tree smell which personally I am fond of but I know most of the people dislike it.I have a psychological reason linked to it that it will help fight acne and pimple thus providing clear skin.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Wash
The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Wash

TEA TREE SKIN CLEARING FACE  WASH (Rs 695 for 250 ml):

Claims:
  • Regular use gives blemish free skin.
  • Removes excess oil without over-drying skin
  • Helps remove impurities
  • Clinically proven to give clearer-looking skin

This is the product I have been using for the longest amongst all.I was skeptical about it because my skin was accustomed to Avene Cleanance Gel as I was using it for ages. But my skin readily accepted the change and it suited my skin type. The face wash delivers instant freshness and cooling effect and is gentle on skin.It doesn't dries out skin or give a stretchy feeling. The claims are true to a certain extent but it doesn't do much for blemishes.I have so many blemishes mostly because I get so many acne's so I cannot expect it to do much for skin but it doesn't breaks me out like some face washes do.

My Ratings : 4.5/5

Overall I would say that Tea Tree Skin Clearing Face Wash is a decent face wash to try especially if you have sensitive skin.It is gentle, adds freshness and the tea tree oil soothes skin.It won't cause acne because of its usage. The quantity will last quite long hence is not very expensive neither it is very affordable.I recommend it.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Toner
The Body Shop Tea Tree Toner

TEA TREE FACIAL TONER (Rs 795 for 250 ml):

Claims:
  • Refreshing toner for blemished skin for matte, shine-free finish.
  • Removes any trace of make-up, cleanser & impurities
  • Mattifying powders leave skin shine-free
  • Clinically proven to give clearer-looking skin

This toner comes in a regular plastic bottle like face wash in same quantity. Some sediments separate from the toner and settle down and I believe them to be the mattifying powder mentioned in the claim.Every time you need to shake well to dissolve the powder before you apply it.It gives a warm tingling sensation on skin which I do not abhor because of the feeling that it might be treating and healing acne.I have large skin pores and  a very oily skin and it doesn't helps oil control until I use it in combination with other products.

My Ratings:4.2/5

Overall I would say that Tea Tree Facial Toner is good for sensitive skin which removes impurities. It gives better result when used in proper CTM regime.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion
The Body Shop Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion

TEA TREE MATTIFYING LOTION (Rs 1095 for 50 ml)

Claims:
  • Non-oily moisturising lotion for blemished skin.
  • Gives lightweight hydration
  • Easily absorbed
  • Matte finish
  • Antibacterial action
  • Clinically proven to give clear skin

This is the new packaging of the product and all the products from tea tree range have been revamped.I personally liked the previous packaging more. This lotion is perfect and is strictly for oily skin beauties as it is non oily and gets absorbed like dream without leaving any trace of it.A little quantity is required each time and hence the tube may last long.It has a serum like consistency and thankfully it doesn't breaks me out which is a big yayy  !!

My Ratings:4.8/5

If you have a oily skin do include Tea Tree Mattifying lotion in your daily ctm regime. It has a beautiful matte texture which won't clog your pores hence will not cause acne.I recommend it.

The Body Shop tea tree squeaky clean scrub
The Body Shop Tea Tree Squeaky Clean Scrub

TEA TREE SQUEAKY CLEAN SCRUB (Rs 895 for 100 ml)

Claims:
  • Contains micro-fine exfoliants with bursting beads to help unclog pores.
  • Not over-drying.
  • Suitable for blemished skin.
  • Skin feels soft, smooth and clean.
  • Pores look visibly clearer and skin feels purified.

I personally love using the squeaky clean scrub as an exfoliating face wash rather than just a scrub. The particles are dense but extremely mild and not very abrasive hence it is very gentle on skin.As it lathers mildly I do skip my face wash and use it instead for dual action and the results are good.As per the claim it is not over drying and skin feels smooth.I can not judge if my pores are visibly clear or not because my blackhead problem hasn't solved because of large pores.A very little quantity is required hence a single tube will last quite long.

My Ratings:4.8/5

Overall I would say that tea tree squeaky clean scrub is a good everyday mild scrub which won't irritate sensitive skin.It helps gently remove dead skin and dirt and imparts cooling sensation.I recommend this product.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil
The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil

TEA TREE OIL ( Rs 695 for 10 ml )

Claims:
  • Targeted care for blemished skin.
  • Soothing
  • Has antibacterial properties
  • Does not dry out skin

Now here comes the most interesting part of the entire range. Before starting let me tell that for every person a product suitability varies. What suits me might or might not suit you.I have been using tea tree oil since quite a long time even before purchasing the TBS one.Hence for my skin type I found it useful. For my skin it shows effect very similar to that of Benzoyl Peroxide which I discontinued because of persistent use it stopped showing any effect.Tea Tree Oil is definitely much gentle than Benzoyl Peroxide.

The Body Shop Tea Tree oil comes in a small glass bottle which has no system of dropper and the nozzle provided somehow doesn't works properly for me.I did not liked the packaging much but lets come to the efficacy of it. Do not expect it to do wonders but it does ameliorates the condition. It helps dry down the acne earlier than it actually would. And if they acne is just about to pop which is generally accompanied with pain , tea tree oil helps come it quickly to the surface.

My Ratings:4.8/5

In a nutshell I would say that if you are a person with a lot of acne and pimple , apply it on the problematic areas twice a day(for faster results).Even if it doesn't disappears them magically it helps in healing them. For 10 ml it is kind off expensive but if you do not have access to pure tea tree oil you can trust it.Do try it !

Overall View

Tea Tree oil is a good range for people with sensitive skin as it will not irritate your skin and the goodness of tea tree oil will help soothe the skin. The range if used in combination works better for skin.It won't cause any acne on using the products. Also it will not completely prevent them because of the only reason that skin troubles have problems lying down deep in the skin and just topical treatments are not enough to prevent them. But I recommend trying some of the products from the range.

This was my opinion for the entire tea tree range and I hope so you found it useful. My personal favourites have to be the Tea Tree squeaky clean scrub,Tea Tree Mattifying lotion and Tea Tree oil. Do share your views on The Body Shop Tea Tree range? Which of these have you tried and your favourites. Also follow me on all my social media's to stay updated. Thanks for reading.Take Care !
