Lakme 9 to 5 Primer+Matte Powder Foundation Review

Lakme 9 to 5 Primer+Matte Powder Foundation
Pressed powder is my cult favorite as my skin is inbuilt with an oil producing unit and I need something to control shine even though temporarily.Any new launch, especially from my favorite brand...and my eye pops out.. Desperate me, I have to get it, regardless of how many I already have...Actually pressed powders are the only makeup product I use the most and I wonder how many compacts I must have used till date. Well, let me introduce a new launch by Lakme, which is 9 to 5 primer + matte foundation.I have been using this for almost a month and have also hit the pan so I would share my experience with this product.

Lakme 9 to 5 Primer+Matte Powder Foundation Review

The rose gold reflective packaging is extremely beautiful and otherwise also the packaging is functional. It has two slots-one for the pressed powder and mirror and second for the sponge. The compartment for sponge is useful as it has holes for the ventilation. The packaging overall resembles a lot like that of MAC.

The shade I randomly chose online was Silky golden which is a decent match for my medium wheatish skin, not the best one though. The powder is finely milled and has a soft silky texture. It is easy to blend it into my skin and has a low to medium coverage. It makes skin slightly more toned and bright but nothing very noticeable.I have been using it for so long but honestly it didn't matched my expectations. It stays for around 3-4 hours on my oily skin and doesn't gives any oil control. Also it doesn't makes my skin feel fresh for long.I am not really sure if it is the formula or the shade selection which is not working for me.

I don't see any primer effect working on me nor any foundation it that case.I quite like the formula which is light weight and not chalky. The sponge also resembles that of Mac,which does its job nicely though I like to use my powder brush with it.The product doesn't breaks out my skin so it apt for sensitive skin beauties.Priced at Rs 600 for 9 gm I find it a decent buy.

My Ratings: 3.75/5

I like the packaging, formula and the concept of primer+matte very enticing but the performance is just average .The silky texture which feels expensive but for my oily skin I have better options to try.If you don't have high expectations from this product it would be a good option to try otherwise wait for the discount season to come.
