If you read my blog then you must be aware of that I love using eyeliners and I keep trying different products especially the new launches. Lakme recently reinvented their very own eyeconic kajal which claims 'The deep black kajal that beats time.' I got my hands on it a few days back and to know if I like it or not please keep on reading.

Eyeconic comes in a regular black cased , twist up mechanism pencil housed in a cardboard cover.I like that the new packaging comes with a hologram so that it can be distinguished with the counterfeit versions circulating in the market.The packaging is all the same like the previous one with no innovation except that the '10 hour' claim has been replaced with '22 hour'.I wish there was something new to the existing packaging like the Maybelline Colossal was changed to Maybelline Colossal Super Black with a different colour scheme.
The texture is soft , smooth and the shade is black though not a jet black like I expected it to be as per the claim.The pigmentation is buildable and an intense colour can be deposited in multiple swipes.It is safe to wash your eyes and this kajal will stay in place therefore it is waterproof.I do not wear contact lens but my eyes are sensitive and it doesn't irritates them.
Coming to the longevity it stayed well on my upper lids for like 8-9 hours without smudging a bit which is good as I have oily lids and the wing remained intact.On accidental rubbing of eyes it does smudges but not insanely hence it is not cent percent smudge proof but it is around 90 percent.Also it can be used for smokey eye look as it smudges a bit and doesn't sets immediately on application.
I donot wear kajal on lower lashline hence I cannot comment on the staying power as a kajal. Also I generally do not wear eyeliner for more than 8 hours which I suppose most of the people don't hence I am impressed by the wear time of this kajal. It looks as fresh as at the time of wearing it.
It can be removed easily using a micellar water or an oil based remover.

Overall I would say that New Lakme Eyeconic is a good affordable black kajal to try which stays for a long time on my upper lids without fading. Since it comes in a retractable packaging the application is hassle free and texture is soft.I recommend it unless you are looking for the jet black kajal.
